Fort Myers Beach is located in Southwest Florida along the Gulf of Mexico coast. This is a Spring Break hot spot for college kids and no wonder because it has so many interesting and fun things to do. For the water sports lover there are boats, canoes, kayaks, jet skis, parasailing and wave runners, as well as fishing. You can take a cruise or go on a dolphin tour. There are many restaurants in Fort Myers, but these are among the most popular. Bayfront Bistro has a water front view featuring an upscale sushi bar. The Beached Whale offers the choice to eat seafood inside or on top of the roof, to enjoy breathtaking sunsets and have fun listening to the live music with dancing. Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille has live entertainment and good seafood right on the beach. Junkanoo on the Beach is a busy spot with a bar and restaurant overlooking the Gulf. Enjoy their daily happy hour drink and food specials. If you are hankering for a yummy cheeseburger, check out Mother's Beach Pub & Grill. Pete's Time Out is a fun little spot located right on the boardwalk, offering huge burgers and cheese fries at affordable prices. The Smokin' Oyster Brewery has superb seafood in an atmosphere of live entertainment. Great affordable food and service.
Vacation Rentals
If you want a bit more room with a longer stay, check out the Fort Myers Beach rentals for your Florida beach vacation. These make great family vacations or romantic getaways for a couple. Some prefer a comfy home, for privacy and larger living space. There are an assortment of beachfront homes and cottages right on the beach. Fort Myers Beach offers a town with an abundance of nightlife fun. There are many bars located on or near the beach. Many of the restaurants above have bars. These are the others: The Beached Whale- featuring a roof-top bar, The Cottage Beach Bar & Grill with live bands and dancing, Top O' Mast Lounge, Nemo's on the Beach, Jimmy B's Rooftop Bar with live music, Yucatan Beach Stand Bar where beer is the main beverage of choice, Parrot Key Caribbean Grill, Beach Pierside Grill, The Beach Pub, Lani Kai Island Resort as the beach party central, Out-rigger Tiki Bar is a favorite for the older crowd, Mermaid Lounge, Cabanas Beach Bar & Grill and Cabasca's.
If you wish to get away from the beach crowd, these bars are located near the beach, but not directly on them: Big Game Bar & Grill featuring sports bar atmosphere, The Sand Bar & Grill, Lighthouse Resort Inn & Tiki Bar and the Upper Deck at Matanzas.
Even though Fort Myers Beach is one of the Spring Break capitals of the country, this place is quite active during all the seasons. Plan a vacation here and enjoy the Gulf coast and all the fun activities that surround the waterfront.
